Meet Sadie! This beautiful German shepherd lab mix with a sweet, affectionate personality is ready to become a loyal, cherished member of your family! At 3 years old, Sadie is past the puppy stage, fully house trained, sleeps in her bed all night, and knows all her basic commands. Sadie has seamlessly joined her foster family’s home and with her easygoing personality and temperament, she will settle into your family life easily, and will quickly become a devoted companion. People are her favorite and Sadie thrives on human attention. She bonds very quickly and loves nothing more than to be with her people. She is happiest curled up nearby or leaning into you for a little extra love. You will often find her rolling around on her back (especially outside in the grass!) asking for belly rubs. Sadie would likely enjoy having a canine brother or sister and could potentially live in a home with 1-2 other dogs with a proper and slow introduction. We are unsure how she feels about cats! Sadie currently fills her warm summer days with leash walks, play time, lots of naps and, her favorite- cuddle time! She rides well in the car, has perfect house manners and is a very respectful and polite girl, no jumping on people for her! She is a medium size dog at 63 pounds, and she has a very gentle presence overall in your home and will be best suited for children 13 years of age and up. Sadie is very eager to please her humans and has been very responsive with her training. Typical for the German shepherd breed, Sadie is intelligent, responds well to structure and does best with a mixture of both physical and mental stimulation. She can be mildly reactive when she sees other dogs or small animals (squirrels, rabbits) out on her walks but it is manageable, and part of her current training plan. She will need her new family to commit to continuing that work with her and we have seen her thrive with consistency, patience and positive reinforcement. More than anything, Sadie wishes for someone to call her own... a person or family who will love her as much as she will love them right back. By opening up your home and heart to her, you will be rewarded with endless love and devotion! If you think Sadie could be the perfect addition to your family, please complete an application online and come to our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm!
