Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Shaggy...

x**WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS DOG - PLEASE LOOK AT OUR OTHER DOGS WAITING FOR A HOME**

Shaggy is a beautiful, 3-year old tri-color beagle/hound mix and weighs about 47 pounds.  Thankful to have been rescued from the streets, he is full of love and affection. He adores people, especially kids, and is always in search of opportunities to lay on his back for some belly rubs!  Shaggy is fully house-trained and well on his way to being fully crate trained. He loves to stay active, discover new places and sniff out his surroundings.  Shaggy would do best in an active household with children to play with.  Shaggy does well with other active dogs too!  He is an amazing companion, and he can’t wait to find his furrever.
