Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Safe...

Safe, is a 7-month-old, 30 lb. lab mix who arrived at Petrescue with a fractured femur.  Poor Safe was hit by a car as a younger puppy and never received proper medical care.  Pet Rescue worked with our expert orthopedic surgeon to get Safe the FHO operation he needed.  With a lot of physical therapy, Safe is on the mend and moving towards recovery.
Safe currently resides in an experienced foster home with kids ranging from 8-14 years old and would do best in a forever home that is responsible handling his activity level while he continues the healing process.
Safe has several fur foster siblings and enjoys supervised playtime with them while he is healing. Safe does very well with dogs of all sizes. He loves to be around everyone, but he also sleeps quietly in his crate when he is tired.  Safe rides well in the car, although he needs assistance in and out at the moment.  Since his surgery, Safe is slowly learning to walk on a leash. He is treat motivated and potty trained when kept on a schedule.  A huge cuddle bug, Safe loves getting belly rubs.
Safe will need to continue with physical therapy as he heals from surgery.
Is there anyone out there that can help this boy heal from his past and live up to his potential?--
