Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Maverick...

With his big brown eyes, ears that stand at attention, and an 18-pound frame built for cuddles, 2 year old Maverick is hard to resist. Maverick is a homebody at heart. He lives for couch naps, staying close to his people, and the simple joy of a good snuggle session. Maverick is food motivated, loves a good puzzle treat game, and has made impressive strides working with a professional trainer. He's ready to keep learning with the right family by his side. Day-to-day life with Maverick is easy. He's fully potty trained, crate trained, and gets along well with other dogs, but finds cats a little too exciting, so no cats for this boy. He thrives on routine and is not a barker. Maverick would do best in a calm, structured home with adults or older children (he slept with his 6 year old prior human) who appreciate a dog that rewards consistency and patience. He's neutered and up to date on all veterinary care, so he's ready to walk right into his new forever home. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, low-drama companion who will repay your investment tenfold, Maverick is your guy. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
