Matilda is a new member of Petrescue, and she is truly the definition of a rescue. She was left in a bag on the side of the road. This sweet girl is blind, was underweight and fragile, yet somehow still trusting. Upon arriving at Petrescue, she was immediately “rescued” again by one of our compassionate volunteers and is now safe, warm and resting comfortably in a loving foster home. Her foster family named her Matilda which means “Strong Warrior”, and she certainly is. Matilda, aka Tilly, is adjusting to her new environment and is doing great. She’s still getting used to stairs, so she may need a little help, being carried (like the queen she is) while building her confidence. Tilly is a calm, peaceful girl with so much love to give. She enjoys being held and cuddled, but is also perfectly content hanging out solo in her playpen. She uses wee wee pads, though will go potty quickly when placed outside. Matilda does best in a calm and gentle environment. and is all tail wags with easy going energy once she feels safe. Matilda is a great eater, is easy to love and is so grateful to be safe and cared for. She truly is a special dog. Matilda’s story is a sad one, but through Petrescue, she now has the opportunity to meet her new forever family and live her life with people who will give her the love and care she deserves. If you are interested in meeting Matilda be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturdays 11:30-1:30.
