Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About ZZ Rosie-Courtesy Listing...

Rosie is a loving, gentle, and cuddly 12-year-old dog who is reportedly a mix of Italian Greyhound/Whippet and Chihuahua and ~29 lbs.  She has a strong desire to please humans, which drives her to follow all commands and learn new tricks easily (she is also motivated by treats).  She gets along with most other dogs, though she is not playful.  She just likes to sniff hello for a minute or two and then go about her own business.  She walks out of her way to avoid cats after a negative experience with a stray.  She is great with kids, but after a few hours with a toddler, she tends to retreat and try to hide and sleep. Rosie loves her humans and will do best in a home where she is not left alone for too long. Rosie is spayed, housebroken, healthy, per recent vet check-up and fully up-to-date on vaccines and preventative care. Unfortunately, Rosie’s owners have to move overseas and are looking for a loving home for her to live out her senior years in order to avoid further stress to her at this age.
