Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Junior...

Meet Junior! This 6 year old Yorkshire Terrier is looking for his special person. Junior is a quiet love of a dog with cuteness galore! At just 11 pounds he’s the perfect size for quiet companionship. He’s housebroken, rides nicely in the car, sleeps alone without a fuss, walks well on a leash…and only barks when someone’s at the door. Junior is eager to please, responsive and intelligent. He is generally very calm and sweet and loves hanging out in his bed with his toys or curling up on your lap. He is currently being fostered in a home with another small dog and he walks well with her on a leash and shares space respectfully. A low key peaceful loving environment would suit Junior nicely.  He is a sensitive soul who thrives in calm, predictable environments. Junior has had some big feelings about the world in the past, which means he's looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. He'd do best as your one and only pet, where he can be the center of your world without the stress of other furry friends. This little guy will flourish in a peaceful adult home with an experienced dog owner who can give him the structure, routine, and gentle guidance he needs. If you're looking for a devoted companion and have the time to help him continue building confidence, Junior might just be your perfect match. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Satrday 11:30-1:30.
