Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Charlie...

Charlie is a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on cuddles and attention. He’s happiest when he’s sitting on your lap, soaking up love and giving all his affection back. A true homebody (or should we say "homedog"), he enjoys lounging around the house and watching the world go by from his favorite window. At home, Charlie is a dream: he sleeps through the night, is fully potty trained, and waits patiently in his crate (which he loves) when left alone for short periods. He’s well-behaved indoors and has never been known to ruin furniture or shoes—he’s content with a good game of fetch with his toys! While Charlie is a calm, loving companion indoors, he does face challenges outside the house. He can be reactive to strangers and other dogs. He’s slowly becoming more comfortable with the outside world, and he’s looking for someone who is patient and ready to work with him on building trust in new environments (people, animals, places). Charlie would thrive in a home where he can continue to feel safe and secure, with someone who is committed to helping him progress. He will do best in a home where someone can provide a structured, safe environment for him and others. With the right person, Charlie will reward you with endless loyalty and affection in return for your understanding and patience. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
