Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Nena...

Meet Nena! Nena is a 10-ish year-old Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix, weighing in at a petite 7 lbs. This alert and loyal little companion adores cuddling on her person’s lap, taking short walks to sniff around the neighborhood, and napping in the sun. Well-socialized with dogs, she gets along well with the canine companions in her foster home. Nena has a visual impairment and requires daily eye drops, but this doesn’t stop her from being a resilient and loving companion. She would thrive best in a home where she can bond closely with her one person and be with them often. One of her most endearing quirks is sleeping with one ear up and one ear down. She loves being carried around in a little pouch, happily joining her foster mom on errands and outings. If you’re looking for a devoted senior dog with whom to share your life, Nena might be the perfect match. Be sure to complete an application online and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday from 11:30-1:30!
