Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About ZZ Sunny-Courtesy Listing...

Sunny, as his name suggests, is a gorgeous, golden-colored, bright and beautiful 3 year old, 34 lb  Beagle/Collie/Boxer mix who is 100% housebroken, non-destructive inside the home, and responsive to several commands, including sit, stay, down, and paw.  He is much more of a peace-and-quiet kind of dude, than a chaos-and-confusion type of guy and will thrive in a home outside of the city.  Unfamiliar dogs, skateboarders whizzing by, strangers in his face, can cause Sunny a little bit of anxiety, especially on leash.  He can be reactive on a leash, but with a little practice and patience, he can likely be taught to settle down...but set him free in the dog park and he's totally cool with everything...and he'll even play and run with other dogs! C'mon, chase me, chase me! Sunny is extremely smart and food-motivated and is a pretty good listener, especially if he sees a treat in your hand.  This active boy loves toys, going for walks, and trips to the dog park.  Wanna go for a car ride with him?  Sunny will always be down for that. Vroom, vroom, let's go! And what a handsome co-pilot he'll make.  Once you've earned Sunny's trust, you'll have a friend for life.  He enjoys pets, cuddles, and scratches behind the ear from his loyal friends and loved ones. Although Sunny likes making doggie friends on the outside, he would do best as your one and only fur-kid in an adult-only home.  One thing's for sure: Sunny is a VEREY sweet dog, and given the right environment he will be a fabulous fuzzy friend.  If you are interested in this dog, please contact: Jennifergoltche@gmail.com
