Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Summer...

Summer is a love… a very “low maintenance” pup. Summer needs and loves to be with people so we are looking for a forever home where she is not alone for long periods of time. She loves to sun bathe and LOVES HER NAPS! She will curl up right behind you on the couch (her favorite place), and take a nap. She will cuddle on the sofa while you are watching TV or reading. She loves to play and enjoys her walks with or without a canine companion. Summer doesn’t need a canine companion in her forever home, but living with one would be a plus…(She seems to love male dogs!) She will take a longer walk with a companion, but goes potty immediately when by herself. She does well with children and cats and truly loves human and dog company. When left alone in the house, she does not like the crate but enjoys sitting by a window, looking out... and get ready for a happy greeting when you get home! Summer LOVES car rides and would love to be your companion on errands. She has an adorable habit of walking behind you and tapping the back of your leg with her nose to let you know she’s there. Her current foster mom thinks that is a previous home, she may have lived with someone with sight or hearing issues, so she learned to that…smart girl. She will sleep in her bed at the end of yours and she loves to be with her humans at all times. Summer is a smart girl and knows commands for “sit’ and “come here”. Summer is a dog who loves and needs routine.  She may take a little time to warm up to you, but once she knows she is safe and loved, she will give her everything to you. Summer was diagnosed with Addison’s disease, and is on daily meds. She is very good at taking her meds since a treat always follows meds…no problem! (and she’ll remind you if you forget). Summer is the sweetest girl. The lucky family that takes Summer home will be adding a loyal, loving  friend to their family. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
