Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Amber...

Meet Amber…She is a cuddly, snuggly teddy bear. Amber is a sweet pup with a gentle demeanor...friendly to all, loves being with people, has lots of energy, and loves to play with her canine buddies.  Despite being a big dog, she’s always lovely, always looks for cuddles, and always tries to be near you. She thinks she is a fine lap dog. Amber is a smart dog who already knows the commands “sit. stay, let go, come”. She walks nicely on the leash and doesn’t pull, although squirrels definitely have to be investigated. She is well behaved and respects property… no chewing on things that are not appropriate. She is crate trained, and totally house trained and has never had an accident.  In fact, she will whine to let you know she needs to go out! Amber has been living in a foster home with a 5 year old child, two cats and a chihuahua mix. She is young and high energy, so will do best with an active family with older kids, in a home with space to run around. She will ask for long walks, hikes and your time to play tug and chase. Amber loves playing with other dogs. She is very friendly and playful, and sometimes needs reminding that gentle play is best. Amber is a dream and is waiting for that special family to provide her with the enriching environment she deserves. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
