Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Mocha...

Mocha came to us from the saddest of circumstances. At 7 years old, she was relinquished to a shelter after being used as a puppy making machine. She was so lost, confused and stressed without her family that she started rubbing her face against the kennel bars until she bled. Mocha’s self-mutilating was so bad that the shelter felt that the most humane solution was euthanasia. We couldn’t let that happen so we took her in and she went right into a foster home, where she has been the most wonderful companion.  Here is what her foster family says: Mocha is goofy, housebroken and playful yet can just chill out on the couch; she does not like to be crated but is perfectly trustworthy to be loose and enjoys her alone time; she has a good appetite and loves a home cooked meal but is not a picky eater; she is a pleasant, rhythmic snorer; and an all-around great dog. Mocha is dog selective, but is friendly with all people, and loves to go for walks.  If you’ve been looking for the companionship of a wonderful pet, come meet Mocha… we know you won’t be disappointed. Come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
