Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

  3. Click on "Start Dog Adoption Application" below
  4. Complete the Adoption Application and submit

A little About Lance...

Meet Lance!  This 7 year old, 12 lb bundle of fluff is so easy to love. He came to Petrescue from the NYCACC, and he is such a sweet and friendly little guy. Lance likes to be with people and will follow you around. This boy likes to be held and babied. Sadly, we learned that he has a heart murmur and needs daily meds to slow down the progression of heart disease. We know his special human is out there…someone with a heart big enough to share with Lance! When you meet him, you’ll know how much love he has to give. So if you are looking for a new best friend, we'd love you to meet Lance. Lance is available to adopt or foster.  Be sure to complete an application on line and continue to monitor our website for updates.

Our mission is to aid homeless, abandoned and neglected cats and dogs, to nurture them in the foster care of volunteers, to provide veterinary care and socialization, and to place them in permanent loving and responsible homes.
