Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About ZZ Bix-Courtesy Listing...

6/20/23 West to a rescue that specializes in blind dogs.

Bix lost his forever home due to his owner’s illness, and eventual death.  Bix is a quirky old man with a friendly personality and all he wants is to just sit with someone, although he is perfectly fine being left alone. He has reduced vision and can be startled by bigger dogs, but with a proper introduction he gets along with others perfectly!...and he is fine with cats.  Due to his vision, he will do best in a home without younger children. Bix’s foster mom says “ My favorite thing about him (other than his lovey-dovey and playful personality) is that he is an amazing listener! He spends most of his days sleeping and always tell us when he's hungry or needs to use the bathroom.  He is wee wee pad trained but prefers to be let outside in our yard. I think he would be the perfect pup for a calm household that will provide him with endless comfy blankets to lay on.
Bix is up to date on vaccines and is neutered. Most importantly he is diabetic and requires 7 units of insulin twice a day which he is very good about.
All in all, Bix will make an amazing addition to a lucky family.  If you are interested in this dog please contact Jolysa at 914-396-2516 or jolysaoyervide@gmail.com
