Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Sparta...

This handsome bright-eyed and bushy-tailed guy is Sparta! With two different colored eyes and a sparkling smile, we're guessing that he is an “Ausky” (Australian Cattle Dog and Husky mix), about 4 years old and 51 lbs. He is incredibly social, trusting, and friendly with humans and other dogs. Sparta is housebroken, crate-trained, smart, outgoing, good-natured, playful and silly - loves to chase bugs and always has a big smile on his face! We have learned that Sparta is not a fan of cats, so no cats for this boy. He loves the outdoors and a good game of fetch. If you have a fenced-in yard and adore working dog energy, Sparta will be an amazing forever friend. When not playing with his rubber ball, Sparta is a goofy love bug. He is good with older kids and he’s a sucker for belly rubs. Sparta is ready to be part of a loving, active home! Watch a video of this great guy!
