Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Sammi...

Sammi is a very handsome 2 year old Yorkie/Poodle mix. He has lived with the same family since he was 9 weeks old, and is great with adults, but not a good fit for children who may not recognize when he needs his quiet/alone time. Sammi is completely housebroken and crate trained, and walks himself into his crate at night when his family sings him his "good night" song. Sammi greets his family happily at the door and lowers his head for a neck and shoulder rub which he loves. He spends most of the day napping around the house and lets his family know when he wants to play by bringing over his bunny, or a ball to throw. When relaxing, he likes to lay close to his family, but gets crabby and would rather be left alone when he is sleepy. He enjoys walks around the block and to the park, and gets tired out pretty quickly. He knows lots of commands... sit, stay, come, down, and many more. Sammi is not a fan of other dogs, and wants to be your one and only pet in an adult home.  He is stubborn, but also affectionate and loving, especially to adults.
