Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Gemma...

Gemma is a beautiful Basset/Collie mix, about 10 years young and 50 lbs. She is a lovely lady looking to spend time as a constant comfort to her own special human.   Gemma is super sweet and easygoing. If you are looking for a partner to curl up with to watch TV in the evening, then Gemma is your perfect match. She lost her home through no fault of her own after her loving mom could no longer care for her. She does not ask for much – a warm dog bed to rest in, some yummy food and getting pets. Gemma is a slower paced gal who enjoys short walks, sniffing around the yard in search of a sunny spot and getting some love from humans. She is friendly with all – people, including kids, cats and other dogs. Gemma would prefer a home without a lot of steps and a human who lives life slowly. At 10 years old, all the work was put in years ago, so you can be sure you’re inheriting an excellent companion. Applications are being accepted now, and pending our standard veterinary evaluation, Gemma will be available for adoption shortly.  Be sure to continue to monitor our website for updates.
