Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Jara-Courtesy Listing...

People haven't always been kind to Jara and she has had a difficult beginning... but that doesn't bother her in the least, and has not impacted her sweet nature.  She knows the "sit" command, loves human company and will sit for hours with you.  Jara wants you all to herself, and her forever home must be one where she is the only pet. She is housebroken and loves to go on walks, and walks well on a leash. Jara will be a great companion for anyone who likes to walk and hike. Unless Jara is in a fenced in area, she must be on a leash, because she is a curious girl, interested in everything, and will likely follow her nose, and take off if something catches her interest. Jara hasn't had exposure to young children, but does great with teens 12 and up. If you are interested in this dog, please contact Donna.
