Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Due to the extremely high number of applications we have been receiving, the review process will take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.

A little About Poppy...

Poppy is a 14-year-old Chihuahua with plenty of love and personality to share. His family is moving and wants to find him a wonderful new home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by love. Don't let his age fool you. Poppy still has an impressive burst of speed and loves to run around with other small dogs. He is housebroken, walks nicely on his leash, and enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring the yard, sniffing around, and soaking up the sunshine. Poppy is a little shy when meeting new people, but once he gets to know you, he's very affectionate. He loves having his head scratched, enjoys being petted and brushed, and is happiest relaxing beside his favorite people. Whether he's curled up on the couch watching TV or snoozing in his bed nearby, Poppy simply enjoys being part of the family. At bedtime, he likes to sleep with his people, quietly settling in at the foot of the bed.Though he's small, Poppy takes his job of looking after his family seriously. He  will let you know when someone is approaching the door, making him an excellent little watchdog. Poppy is looking for a loving home that will give him the companionship he enjoys and the cozy retirement he deserves. In return, he'll be a loyal, affectionate companion who will happily spend his days by your side. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
