Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Due to the extremely high number of applications we have been receiving, the review process will take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.

A little About ZZ Dusty- Courtesy Listing...

Dusty is a Maltipoo who will turn 7 years old in December. She has lived in the same home for the past 6½ years and loves nothing more than being close to her person. She’s a true lap dog who enjoys cuddling and especially loves being carried like a baby. Dusty is primarily an indoor dog and is accustomed to using wee-wee pads. She enjoys a quiet, predictable routine and is happiest relaxing at home with her favorite person. She was never formally trained and has had limited exposure to new environments, other dogs, and young children, so she will do best with someone who understands her background and can help her continue to build confidence. As she's gotten older, Dusty has remained incredibly affectionate with the people she knows and trusts, but she can also be sensitive and easily startled. When she feels frightened or overwhelmed, she may respond by growling, showing her teeth, or biting as a way of communicating that she needs space. For this reason, Dusty is looking for an experienced, patient adopter who understands canine body language and is committed to helping a nervous dog feel safe and secure. Dusty has spent her life in a quiet home with senior owners who love her deeply. They have made the difficult decision to find her a home that is better suited to her needs, with the hope that she can enjoy a calm, predictable environment where she can continue to flourish .Dusty also takes her role as household "security system" seriously and is an enthusiastic barker who will happily alert you when visitors arrive or something outside catches her attention. Dusty is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. For the right person, Dusty will be a devoted companion who loves affection, closeness, and being part of everyday life. She is looking for a patient, understanding home where her sweet personality can shine. If you are interested in this dog, please contact sascher@gmail.com
