Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Due to the extremely high number of applications we have been receiving, the review process will take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.

A little About Cher...

Meet Cher: A Highway Survivor with a Heart Full of Love
Cher’s story began on the side of a highway but you’d never know it from the way she greets the world today. This sweet girl has so much love to give and is looking for a person or family who wants a devoted companion by their side. If you’re searching for a dog who will adore you completely, Cher may be your perfect match. Cher absolutely loves people and never misses an opportunity for affection. One of her favorite things to do is roll onto her back and offer her belly for rubs. She thrives on companionship and loves being near her humans. Her foster mom, who works remotely has found Cher to be wonderfully easy to live with, as Cher spends most of the day quietly relaxing in her bed nearby. She’s content to nap while her mom works and happily accepts pets and attention whenever there is a free moment. Cher is a low-maintenance dog... she’s happiest simply sharing space with the people she loves. Whether you’re working at a desk, watching television, or relaxing at home, Cher seems content just knowing she’s close to her person. Cher appears to be both kennel-trained and potty-trained. She willingly goes into her crate to relax or enjoy a treat, and with three walks a day, she has had no accidents in the house. She is also an excellent passenger in the car and sleeps peacefully during the ride When it comes to food, Cher eats her meals reliably morning and night, but she’s a bit of a connoisseur with treats. She knows what she likes and isn’t afraid to be selective, which only adds to her charming personality. On walks, Cher is very interested in other dogs and can become quite excited when she sees them. She may bark, vocalize, or pull toward them, so her adopter should be comfortable with secure leash handling. She has shown friendly interactions with some smaller dogs, though she may be more sensitive around larger dogs.
With her adorable floppy ears, gentle spirit, and seemingly endless capacity for love, Cher is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with her people. Whoever welcomes this sweetheart into their home won’t just be adopting a dog, they’ll be gaining a loyal best friend who is ready to fill their days with affection, companionship, and joy. Be sure to complete an application on line and come meet Cher at our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
