Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Alice...

Alice is a quiet, gentle, shy, loving 1-year old lab mix that weighs around 40 pounds. She loves to cuddle and will be delighted to lay quietly at your feet if you're working from home.  Alice doesn't get into anything that isn't hers and doesn't attempt to go on furniture or jump on people. She is housebroken, but does urinate when she gets nervous. This may stop once she feels more confident in your home. She walks beautifully on the leash with no pulling, although she is easily startled by traffic so a rural home would be best for her. As she is feeling more comfortable in her foster home, Alice is becoming more playful and showing her silly side, tossing around stuffed toys and frolicking outside. Alice would be fine as an only dog or with a calm canine companion and she shows no reaction to cats when passing them outside. Alice would do best in a quiet environment with patient people who are going to let her explore and come out of her shell at her own pace. Alice settles nicely in her crate and is working on getting comfortable in the car and on stairs. If you're looking for a loving companion while you're working from home, she's your girl.
