Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Coco...

Hi. My name is Coco.  Nobody understands why I was at a shelter because I'm awfully sweet, smart, pretty and an excellent cuddler.  I'm not too big to curl up in your lap either!  I am a 5 year-old, 30 pound dachshund mix.  My foster mom is working on basic obedience skills with me.  I've already learned to "sit" and we are working on "wait".  I am awesome on a leash, but get excited when I see squirrels or other dogs, so I need to live in a home where I am the only dog.   I think I'm completely housebroken but if you'd like me to stay in my crate when you go out, I'm quiet and content in there. Would you like to take me home? I promise you won't regret it!
