Adopt or Foster a Dog

Pet Rescue is dedicated to providing cats and dogs with a second chance to find loving and safe homes.
Dogs currently available for adoption are featured below. New animals are added as they become available.
You can help! Please share their profiles, because every adoption makes room for another deserving pet.

Please be sure to check the status of the dog you may be interested in adopting.  The status of a particular dog will be one of the following:

  • Adoptable - Dog has not yet been adopted out to a family although there may be applications that are still in the process of being evaluated.  In addition, following approval the applicant will meet the dog with their family to make sure it is a good fit.
  • Adoption Pending - Approved applicant has scheduled a meet and greet with the dog and an adoption seems likely.
  • Adopted- Dog has been adopted but will continue to remain our website for a short period of time following the actual adoption.

Please come meet our adoptable dogs at our Meet & Greet, every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:30pm at Pet Rescue, 7 Harrison Ave, Harrison NY 10528. Please call us with any questions you may have about our sweet dogs: 914-835-3332

A little About Fatima...

Fatima is a beautiful 2 year old dachshund mix and weighs about 14 lbs. She has come a long way, in her loving foster home.  In the past few weeks she has gained some confidence towards humans and other dogs. She is still a bit shy but warms up in time. She is not a major cuddler, but loves to stay close to humans. She loves to play with different toys in the house and loves to run in the dog yard.  She also loves to meet and play with other dogs but gives a definite paws down to cats…no cats for this lady.  . She is house broken and crate trained.  Fatima also knows basic commands: Sit and wait.
Fatima does not like to be alone so will need another dog in the house or a human who is home most of the day. She will do best in a dog experienced household or a home with another dog with older children, that can give her the confidence she needs to become more confident.
