Pablo

is an 9 month old male Corgi mix and 19 lbs. He's a happy little fellow who's very affectionate and cuddly. His favorite activities include sitting in laps, lying at someone's feet, or scampering around while chasing a ball. Honor & Page are adorable Dachshund mixes, about 8 months old and 12 lbs each. These two sweet girls are very well behaved, love to cuddle with you and each other. Love their toys and will play for hours. Seem to be housebroken since there have been no accidents. Great with other dogs and especially good with children. Fine with cats, the cats they are living with now are bigger than both of them. Good in the car and very little shedding. They are very bonded to each other and are never far from the other. This Shepherd/Lab mix is a sweetheart! She was rescued from a home where she was neglected and ignored, yet she holds no grudges. She loves to be petted, cuddled and is happy to share kisses. She seems to be fine with most dogs but likes to chase cats. Paige is about 50 lbs and around 2 years old.

Patches is a precious 15 week female puppy. She is lbs. and will probably be a medium to large sized dog. We think that she is a Smooth Collie/Beagle mix. She is super sweet and gentle. She loves to run around and play both inside and outside and loves to snuggle or go to sleep with her head on your shoulder but if you're not around she will gladly snuggle up with a soft pillow or stuffed animal or another dog. She plays very well by herself and with her toys and she is not very chewy for a puppy. She gets along fabulously with the 4 adult dogs in her foster home. She would enjoy a home with another dog and a yard but it's not necessary. She would probably do better in a home with calmer kids who are not very young because she can be a little shy and reserved at times. is a sweet and loving dog with amazing soulful brown eyes. She was a good mother to Falafal and Frappuccino (adopted) and now needs a home of her own. She looks like a lab/viszla mix with a stub tail and is about 38 lbs and around a year or two old. She would do best in a calm home as she gets very scared by loud noises or in new situations. Patience will pay off however as she has a lot of love to give. When she first met her foster family, she hid in a corner and shivered. Within two days, however, she was greeting them at the door and seeking attention. She now rolls on her side when someone approaches so she can get a belly rub and taps with a paw when she wants to be petted. She likes to sit at your feet and play with her toys. Good on a leash, she actually prances as she walks. She loves other dogs, is fine with cats and is not destructive.

Paula's Collie Mixes

Foster Family update on Paula's Puppies: These three puppies are the sweetest playful puppies we have ever had! They get along with each other and all of the critters in the house as well as all of the people (including lots of very tall teenage boys) coming through. They are good on the leash and follow the pack off a leash when romping through the park. They sleep through the night and are housebroken -accomplished this on their own. They do have different personalities. Rodney, the white pup, is incredibly smart. You can actually watch him plan how to get what he wants. He loves interaction with the bigger dogs in the house. Hunter, the short haired light brown pup, is the ring leader of the play. He is the one who starts the games of tag and tug of war. He is also incredibly smart and very easy to train. We believe that they are a mix of collie and lab. We guess that they will be about 40 pounds. These 6 month old pups have been neutered and are up to date on their vaccinations.

Paula's Delightful Pups

These delightful puppies are gorgeous, sweet, playful and loving. The three are probably terrier mixes and with the smooth haired sweetheart, probably part Lab as well. The 3 sisters are about 5 months old, 12 pounds, spayed and up to date on all of their shots. They are living with other dogs and cats and get along with everyone. They also seem to be housebroken They spent their first day in their new foster home playing in the yard and running inside for naps on the laps of their new foster parents. When ever an adult sat on the floor there was a puppy curled up. They are a bit nervous on their leashes but with a little training should be jogging down the street. These girls are ready to meet their forever families.

These three pups have the same body shape and coats but that is where the similarity ends. As can be seen in the pictures they all have very different faces and coloring. Each has their own peronality- one is more of a lap dog, one loves to play tug of war and one loves to snuggle with the other 5 dogs in the foster home! She just arrived on Saturday so we're getting to know her. She gets along with cats and also dogs. We think she would be fine by herself but she definitely likes attention. Once she's in your lap it's all love! She's about 2 years old, and is very, very low shed. She needs a little work on housetraining but we think she's very smart and will learn quickly. Because of her size we do not recommend small children. She would do well in a home or an apartment. Update: Her foster home has kept her off leash, under supervision, and she has not had any accidents in the house. She has been nicknamed "Love Bug".

Pedro is one in a litter of four (Priscilla, Pierre, and Paco also posted). They are active and loving pups, about 4 1/2 months old. They are about 15 pounds now and may double their weight when fully grown. The mom looked just like Priscilla, a red short haired beauty. We guess the dad looked more like the boys....black, brown and beige with adorable floppy ears. Each pup has their own personality from very outgoing to a bit shy but they all love to be in a lap and nuzzle their faces into a shoulder while giving a hug. They are paper trained and are getting very adept at walking on a leash. They love their toys and are extremely playful, entertaining their foster family with their antics. All four love the car and dog park. We have noticed that they love to jump on small children to give a lick so they probably should not go to a home with very young children.

Pepita, a beautiful combination of Tibetan Spaniel and Pekingese, is a small bundle (25 lbs) of cuddly dog. She is naturally affectionate so although she will warn you of strangers coming into the house she will take only a minute to warm up to them. Pepita is house-trained, good on the leash and will be easily content with good people. She is 3 years old and will be spayed on 2/27.

Pepper

Pepper is a great little dog who loves to play with any adult, child or furry critter. She is the love of the neighborhood, everyone's favorite critter. Pepper is gentle, affectionate, knows basic commands, and is housebroken. Pepper loves to hike and is good off and on a leash. She is probably part wirehaired terrier (her sisters have long curly hair) and maybe part lab. This little girl is 20 pounds, about 1 year old, spayed and up to date on shots. Pepper's family is heartbroken to have to give her up but unfortunately do not have a choice.

Pepper & Sandy

Pepper (62 lbs) and Sandy (55 lbs) are 3 year old siblings that have been raised together. They are great dogs and very attached to each other. They would love to go to a home together, but we realize that this may not be possible. Both dogs are completely housetrained and well behaved, even when left alone in their home. They are good with kids, but we would suggest kids over 5 since Pepper gets excited when her first sees you, but does calm down quickly. Sandy and Pepper are very sweet and full of personality. They are also trained to the electric fence. Please open your home to these two great dogs.

Peppermint Patty (female) is one of Jenny's 8 adorable puppies, about 8-9 weeks old and around 5-6 lbs. Unlike their mom who looks like a Blue Heeler/Beagle mix (also posted), the pups have wirehaired fur, which may or may not shed as they mature. We do not know what breed the dad was. All we know is that they are sweet, playful and snuggly -- one being cuter than the next!

Percy is an adorable mix. He is only 13 lbs and around 5 mo. He is playful and outgoing. He loves people and other animals. What a great little guy with the softest fur and a very unique look.

Percy is a 5 month old boxer/lab mix, about 40 lbs. He's a sweet, friendly guy with a whole lot of puppy energy who loves everybody. He passes his time playing with his foster siblings, chewing on his toys, chasing a ball, and napping. Percy is housebroken, but as a puppy still can't be left for long periods of time. He is good in the car and is crate trained although he now sleeps through the night on his bed in his foster mom's bedroom. He's very attentive and loves to be with people. Periwinkle is the cutest little dog. She loves to play with the dogs in her foster home. She even plays tug of war with them. She came here frightened and panting and has adjusted really well. She does not do anything destructive and is always left free to roam the kitchen and halls. She doesn't go up the stairs yet, she will need to be taught stairs. She will make a wonderful family pet and has lots of love to give.

A bit shy at first, Pete is a dog anyone can enjoy: independent, non-destructive, smart, quiet with just enough mischief to keep things interesting! Being a young boy, he likes a good chew toy/bone yet has shown great restraint when it comes to "people possessions." With a good deal of energy, Pete is a great companion for running errands, playing in the yard and taking walks. He's working very hard on his house training, not perfect yet, but will get there. is a six year old pure breed twenty five pound cocker spaniel who is totally enjoying his life in New York. He was dumped at a shelter, scared and withdrawn. He had bald patches due to mange and some growths. Nearly blind from cataracts he was overwhelmed by the noise and life in a concrete pen. As soon as PetRescue took him in he was neutered, vaccinated, had his teeth cleaned, his growths removed, a hernia repaired and his mange treated. He is now the picture of health. His coat is thick and shiney and he loves to be brushed and fussed over. He is living with other dogs and kids. He loves to take long walks on all kinds of trails and has recently begun walking in streams and along lake shores. He will be a swimmer soon. He is just as happy walking on a leash around the neighborhood and going for car rides. As soon as he hears keys being picked up he is ready to go. He was very reserved at first and spent all of his time in the house on his bed. He is still very calm and quiet but joins the family where ever they are. He even sleeps in bed with one family member or another. His cataracts have not been treated due to his age and the amount of post op and life long care he would need. He must see a lot because he never bumps into anything ever. He is cautious but adventurous. He does not seem to be fond of cats and will bark at them when they run by him in the house.

is an adorable puppy, about 7 weeks old and 10 lbs. Supposedly, her parents were a purebreed Black Lab and a purebreed Golden Retriever, which reflects her personality. After everything this little girl has been through it is amazing how gentle and loving she is. She was given as a wedding gift to a couple, but when the baby came, they decided it was better for her to live in a cage on the porch. is very sweet, easy, affectionate and loveable. He is a "velcro" dog who does not leave my side. He is housebroken and sleeps through the night, and he is not destructive at all, he does not chew or shred things. He gets along with most dogs, especially those that are initially aloof, he does not like "in your face", overly inquisitive or pushy dogs but will play well with those that do not overwhelm him. He is always eager for a walk or to play tug of war or chase the ball, I have heard that he will bring the ball back but one of my dogs will not share her toys with him, so I am not sure about this. He loves to run around the yard with or without the other dogs and roll in the snow. His coat is soft and luxurious and he loves being brushed. I would not recommend him to a family with young children since he may nip if startled or pulled at. He ignores my cat and is a good, although picky eater. He walks pretty well with a harness & short-ish 4' leash. He sits on command and responds well to his name.

is a sweet little dachshund whose elderly owner has Parkinson’s and can no longer take care of her. Adopted from the Dutchess Co. SPCA about three years ago, Phoebe is about 6 years old and spayed. She was 13 lbs. at her last vet visit (late summer) and is up to date with all vaccinations. She is a most wonderful companion, very loyal, and protective, especially of women, but likes men, too. She is a great foot warmer at night, but usually retreats to the sofa to burrow into her blanket. Phoebe loves to go for walks on her leash and dig for worms in the yard. She just refuses to go out in the rain and snow. Phoebe is paper-trained but could be taught to "go" outside too. Her family is very sad to let her go but would find comfort in finding a home with someone who is loving, gentle and patient.

Phoebe is a petite and beautiful Daschund mix (perhaps with Beagle) with big curious eyes and floppy ears. She is about 10 weeks old and about 8 pounds. She is alert and very intelligent -- she's learning to come when called and is extremely responsive to training efforts. Phoebe is very atuned to all that goes on in this busy house, which has a cat, two other dogs and three children. She's playful and loves to cuddle -- a very affectionate dog who is equally happy snoozing in your lap as chasing sticks in the backyard. Phoebe is trained to paper in the house and is well on her way to being trained outside. She has a lot of personality and spunk. She's a real love.

She wants to be friendly and loved, but she is timid around new things and loud noises and will need somebody to guide her through that initially. She will not be a good city dog. This is a mother and her son. She is about 6 years old and her baby boy is about 3 years old. They are very attached to each other and would love to find a home together. They are calm and quiet and would do great in a calm home. They are both about 15 lbs. They are very snuggly and affectionate. They are fully house broken. The mom loves to chase and fetch toys, the boys mostly likes to snuggle. Phoebe went to the eye doctor and has limited vision, but gets around just fine.

Pierece is a very sweet boy and quite mellow for his age, only about 5 1/2 months and 18 lbs. He gets frisky and plays when it's play time, but when I am working in the kitchen, he settles right down and will lie quietly while I work. He gets along fine with my kids, my dog our sweet cat! He walks nicely on the leash and mostly goes outside for potty.

Pierre

Pierre is one in a litter of four (Priscilla, Pedro, and Paco also posted). They are active and loving pups, about 4 1/2 months old. They are about 15 pounds now and may double their weight when fully grown. The mom looked just like Priscilla, a red short haired beauty. We guess the dad looked more like the boys....black, brown and beige with adorable floppy ears. Each pup has their own personality from very outgoing to a bit shy but they all love to be in a lap and nuzzle their faces into a shoulder while giving a hug. They are paper trained and are getting very adept at walking on a leash. They love their toys and are extremely playful, entertaining their foster family with their antics. All four love the car and dog park. We have noticed that they love to jump on small children to give a lick so they probably should not go to a home with very young children.

Pinta is about 70 pounds and around 2-3 years old. She is a sweet dog that does not need a lot of entertainment. She enjoys playing fetch with a tennis ball or any other chew toy. She is eager to please and likes to pal around with other dogs. She can be nervous around new things and would do better in an adult home or in a home with older children.<

Piper is about one year old and 12 pounds, possibly a Maltese mix with wiry fur. Her tail wags constantly. Pixie and her sister Mia are sweet little Chihuahua mixes. Pixie is about 12 months old, Mia about 6 months old. Mia had an infection as a puppy and as a result has a "cloudy" eye. She problably can't see much out of that eye, but it does not hinder her at all. They are very friendly and playful little girls. Both are just adorable! Need to find a loving home together. We will not separate them. They are about 5-7 lbs. Very small.

is a sweet girl, about 8-10 years old and around 15 lbs. It's hard to imagine why anyone would give this sweet girl up. She has soft wispy fur (not wirehair). She is a little underweight but we are working on that. She would be a great companion for retired person.

Pixie is relatively calm for a puppy and loves to play with her chew toys or cuddle up on the couch next to you. She wants to be wherever you are and does not want to be left behind! She is good on a leash, comfortable in a carrier and enjoys her walks. She is good with the cats in her foster home and is making great progress with her housebreaking. Pixie does not like being alone and will have to go to a home with another dog that she can play with (please do not apply if you don't have another dog!). is a gorgeous 11 month old lab, weighing about 80 lbs. He has the typical lab personality -- friendly and outgoing. He would be a lap dog if you let him. When Plaxico greets you, he comes and gives you big hug. When you talk to him he likes to answer you with a howl. He loves to play with other dogs, but when the playing gets rough, he becomes submissive and rolls onto his back. Just a lover!

This delicious boy is a 1 1/2 year old purebreed Cocker Spaniel who loves life. He didn't have a great start in life so he is enjoying every moment of happiness he has now. He is in a foster home with 3 other dogs and gets along fine with them and actually enjoys playing by himself, just like a pup. He loves his squeeky toys and entertains himself for quite some time. He sleeps in his crate without a problem and knows two commands, sit and give paw and his foster mom is working on more obedience training with him. Lively and happy.. he would be great at agility. In fact he jumps up and down in his crate. Once out of the crate he does not jump much. We don't know if he is house broken.

is an adorable little boy! He weighs around 5-6 lbs. He looks somewhat like his mom Gracie because they both have darker faces than their bodies. Pooh has short, corgi-like legs and is so cute and sweet! He loves to play with everybody! Pooh is full of kisses and cuddles, but is playful and energetic as well. Pooh Bear gets along with everybody, dogs, cats, and kids too. He is very curious! He has the cutest run with those short legs, he looks like a little rabbit! Pooh has four siblings that were adopted and he is in a foster home with his mother Gracie, his "aunt" Hannah, and his "cousin", Lady. He was born on August 14th, 2006.

This is a great dog. He is aout 1-2 year old and around 50 lbs. He is a little timid at first but, warms up quickly. He has the head of a Lab, the body of a Basset Hound and the hair like a Border Collie. What a great mix! He is great with all other animals and people too. He is very affectionate and loves to play (with people, dogs, toys, etc). He seems to be house broken. Please fill out an adoption application.

Pooh Bear

Pooh Bear is such a snuggler. Plays well with everyone, loves to run around and likes his toys. At 6 months old, he is still growing into his body and has the playfulness of a puppy. Seems to be housebroken since there have been no accidents in the house. He is fascinated with the television. Pooh Bear has been such a sweet gentlemen with children but will probably be medium to large in size and could knock over a toddler with excitement. Loves everyone and will put his head on your shoulder to go to sleep.

is an adorable pure breed Maltese. He is 8 months old and just a little lover boy. He is only around 8-9 lbs. He went to the groomer and is sporty his new puppy cut. He is a little hand shy at first. Once he knows that you are not going to hurt him, he becomes this loving and happy puppy. He follows you wherever you go. Pookie is a calm, gentle border collie mix, about 40 lbs and 1 1/2 years old, who loves to snuggle. He enjoys going on leisurely walks, and then coming back to lounge with his foster family. Pookie gets along well with other dogs (is currently living with an active 5 month old puppy), and especially loves getting pets from the neighborhood children. He is housebroken and is a great co-pilot in the car. Pookie will be the most loyal, loving best friend to his new forever family. He was rescued on the WV trip.

Popeye

Popeye (male) is one of Jenny's 8 adorable puppies, about 8-9 weeks old and around 5-6 lbs. Unlike their mom who looks like a Blue Heeler/Beagle mix (also posted), the pups have wirehaired fur, which may or may not shed as they mature. We do not know what breed the dad was. All we know is that they are sweet, playful and snuggly -- one being cuter than the next!

is a very curious but gentle. He is full of love and affection. He is around 55 lbs and 1-2 years old. He has a very silky and soft coat. Porter will make a great companion for a loving home. He is playful and happy too. He is used to going to the dog park and loves everybody there.

Princess is a very sweet little girl, under a year old. She looks like a beagle/pointer mix. She is shy when she first meets you, but warms up quickly and then has lots of kisses for you. She is friendly with her foster siblings, and loves people as well. What a great addition she will be to your family.

This adorable little girl is very sweet and gentle. She is about 13 lbs and around 3 years old. She is nice and calm. A real lap dog. Priscilla is one of a litter of four active and loving puppies, about 4 1/2 months old. They are about 15 pounds now and may double their weight when fully grown. The mom looked just like Priscilla. We guess the dad looked more like the boys....black, brown and beige with adorable floppy ears. Each pup has their own personality from very outgoing to a bit shy but they all love to be in a lap and nuzzle their faces into a shoulder while giving a hug. They are paper trained and are getting very adept at walking on a leash. They love their toys and are extremely playful, entertaining their foster family with their antics. All four love the car and dog park. We have noticed that they love to jump on small children to give a lick so they probably should not go to a home with very young children. Prissy

"Prissy" is not Prissy so her foster family has taken to calling her Missy! She is an all an all around great petite beagle at 14 lbs and 1 year old. Happy and willing to follow the mood of those around her. You want to play? fine.....Walk? fine.....Watch a movie? fine. This is a wonderful little family dog who is great with the foster families older dog. She is crate trained and housebroken and is learning to stay off the furniture and walk nicely on a leash. Missy is a beagle and true to her breed will take off following her noise if given a chance so she will so a fully fenced yard or an "on a lead" only policy. Missy isn't photogenic so her pictures don't show her sunny, willing disposition.

Pug

Pug was rescued in South Carolina by a "hard core" volunteer who took one look at her soulful eyes and saw a very sweet little girl needing a chance to blossom in a safe and loving home. She is still very cautious of people and takes time warming up to people. She spent her first few days in her new foster home cowering in the corner of a crate. She is now venturing out to see what her new world and foster home have to offer. She loves the other dogs snuggling with them and following them around the yard. Pug is a beautiful girl about one year old and up to date with her vaccinations. She is about 25 pounds.

Pugs & Bubu

Pugs and BuBu are absolutely the most adorable and entertaining pups. At only 12 and 13 pounds a piece they are full of personality and hijinx. Everyday is a party for the two 1 year old cuties. They love to play and explore their foster home, play with the other 4 much bigger dogs and cats and hang out with the kids. By themselves they will chase each other and tumble around. Socks left on the floor become a treasure to them. They are also just the right size to hold and cuddle...cradle them in your arms and you will get lots of kisses. They are good eaters, sleepers and "sharers". They are almost housebroken. These two brothers have been together since birth and would like it to stay that way.

is a wonderful boy. He is about 8 months old and around 75 lbs. He grew up with lots of children and loves them. He is fully housebroken and has never been crated. He does not chew anything when left alone. Since he is still quite young, he will need regular exercise and would love a family with kids and a fenced in yard. He is excellent with other dogs too.
