Jack was rescued from a high-kill animal control facility, after his past caretaker's failed to look for him. He is neutered, up to date on all his vax, is heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and recently dewormed. Jack is crate-trained. He is happy, and has a calm demeanor and laidback attitude. He would make a fine companion for any single person, though I feel he wouldn't do well with many children, he would do well with a calm, respectful and considerate child. A big lovebug, he’ll try to snuggle with you and, if you let him, will snooze flat on his back in the middle of the bed. He is great with kids and other dogs too. is about 2 yrs old. He looks like a lab mix and is approximately 50lbs. Jake lives with a family of 6 with 4 girls ranging in age from 4 to 12, and he is excellent with them. He is very tolerant and affectionate, and we have never feared him harming them in any way. Jake has been to obedience school and is a very quick learner. He has been trained on our invisible fence and has learned any trick/command we have endeavored to teach him, such as sit, lay etc... He has never peed or pooped in our house since he was a puppy, and lets us know whenever he needs/wants to go out by standing patiently at the door, or tapping it with his paw. We are very fortunate that jake uses a wooded area of our property as his restroom, and thus requires minimal cleaning up after. Jake tends to want to go to sleep for the night around 8 or 9 pm, and wakes around 8 or 9 in the morning, though he jumps up to go out with any of us if we go outside during that time. He is well behaved and has never ever taken food from a table or countertop, nor has he ever gotten into garbage in the house, even when it has been left temptingly within reach...thus he is really an excellent and well behaved dog. Jake is very protective of our family and sounds an alarm whenever any strangers (including mailmen repairmen etc...) approach our property, and has also barked during the night on occasions when wild animals have gotten into our garbage. He can be somewhat threatening to strangers who have come on our property, and we have been concerned that he may bite them – especially when we are nearby, but he has never tried. I would say that he is a very good watch dog – although he probably would not try to do anyone harm, he will always at least let you know when anyone is around and do his best to intimidate strangers. In addition to Jakes smarts and good behavior, he is also very affectionate and fun. He is filled with joy whenever any of us returns home from being out, and he loves to be petted from those of us he knows will offer it! Due to financial reasons this family can't keep Jake. He would love to find another loving home.

He looks like a Lab/Bassett/Spaniel mix. This litle baby came to us with a broken jaw and is healing nicely, but needs some TLC. He looks the most like a purebreed Black Lab. Jasmine is a sweet yellow lab mix. She weighs only about 45 lbs and is around 1-2 years old. This great little girl who would probably benefit from a home with another dog. She is somewhat shy, but her foster family feels that with some time she will come out of her shell. At this point we feel she would be happier in a home with no young children. This is a VERY SCARED dog that will need a special home. She seems to be only about 12 months old and around 20 lbs and looks just like a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver. It is essential that there is at least one other dogs for her to make her feel welcome. She is extremly timid around people and will take a long time to warm up (at least several months if not more). This is not a good dog if you are looking for a friendly pet or a playmate for your dog (while she likes other dogs, she does not know how to play). He was left outside a trailer home without food or water for days when the owner moved and abandoned him like that. A kind neighbor finally noticed and took him to the shelter. Jill also known as "Jilly Bean" is a really cute and affectionate 5 month old, 10lb Puggle mix full of lots of love. This little girl loves to play and can keep herself very happy. You will never see her without her tail wagging and she will always want to give you kisses. She is great with other dogs and seems not to mind the cats in her foster home as she just wants to play. She is a real lap dog and loves going with you wherever you go--especially for rides in the car. She likes other dogs her size (her foster home has two small dogs) and is great around the cats too. Because she's small she gets scared of bigger dogs. She should go to a home with no young children since she does not like strangers petting her until she warms up to them, which only takes a couple of minutes for her. If it's possible to be a mix of a Golden and a Dachshund, that's what Jimmy is. Thirty solid pounds, he's short and stout and has really soft fur. JJ is an amazing chocolate lab, about 3 1/2 years old with beautiful amber eyes. He is a complete cuddle bug that loves to lay on the couch with his foster mom. He is calm in the house, eats very well, has perfect manners, hasn't made any messes in the house, walks well on a leash, and knows how to sit and lay down. Not sure how he is with other dogs because there haven't been any interactions, but they do seem to excite him. He is also very attentive to other people when passing by. She is crate and paper trained and when she looks at you with that sweet little face all you want to do is snuggle her right up and take in those wonderful kisses. Joy is very gentle, affectionate and playful, whether alone, with her brothers, (Jesse & Jake) or with her foster family’s four other dogs. Though Joy can be a little reserved, she is smart and as soon as you win her over she looks forward to your arrival, wags her whole body and is as sweet as sweet can be. Joyce

is a sweet, adorable girl, about a year old and 23 lbs. She was treated for heartworm which is why her fur is shaved on her sides. It will grow back in nicely. She is all better now and would love to find a home.

These 2 adorable puppies were dumped on the side of the road to fend for themselves. They have been to the vet and have gotten a clean bill of health. They are playful and happy pups. One is cuter and sweeter than the other. They are estimated to be about 12 weeks old, around 15 lbs and are mixes. At the park everybody was telling us that they look just like Goldendoodle pups. Bambi, the ligher colored one is the male. Sadie is a little darker and is a female. Both are VERY attached to each other and would make great pets for somebody.

These two girls were born 6-12-08 and are about 6-7 lbs. They are very active and playful. Their mom was a pure breed chocolate lab. We don't know the father, but it seems like he was a smaller dog. These are great pups, but are definitely in the chewing stage and will need lots of toys and training on not chewing hands, feet, etc. They are fun and very affectionate.

These pups look like a Beagle/Hound mixes. They are about 9-10 weeks old. They are very sweet -- happy, playful and outgoing.

Julep

Julep is an adorable little Chihuahua mix. She is 3 years old and weighs 7 lbs. Julep is great with people, cats, and dogs of all sizes. She enjoys her walks, meeting other dogs, and snuggling up on the couch. She is not a barker, does not chew on furniture and is completely housebroken if kept on a regular schedule. Julep is a wonderful little dog who would love to find a home with another dog (not a must).

is 15 punds and about 3 to 4 years old. She was given up by the same owner as Ronnie. If possible, they would love to find a home together. They are a very happy and outgoing couple.

Julia is a very sweet 1 year old Golden/Spaniel mix and weighs about 35 lbs. She is still a little shy but is warming up quickly and already cuddles up on the couch with her foster mom. Julia is good with dogs of all sizes and gets along with the cats in her foster home. She's calm indoors but loves to run & play with other dogs and makes a great hiking partner. She is housebroken, walks well on the leash and does not chew on furniture. Julia is an all around wonderful dog! She needs a non-urban home since city life would most likely be too hectic for her.

This sweet little girl was rescued by a kind lady and she has taken care of her since. Unfortunately when she moved, the new landlord would not let her keep the dogs (Romeo is from the same home). She sadly has to find a new home for her. Juliette is about 1 1/2 years old and around 25 lbs and has been lovingly taken care of. She is house broken and used to children. She is also good with other dogs and cats. She is very cuddly and loves to sit on top of the sofa, right behind your head.

Jumbo

is an adorable mini Golden mix, about 2 years old and 21 lbs. He only just arrived and we are getting to know him better. He seems to loves people but is a little fearful of other dogs. Please fill out an adoption application.

Junior

Junior is quite a guy and brings joy to his foster family. He is a small dog with a wonderfully calm yet playful personality. He has just gone through major surgery to repair a hip probably damaged in a car accident. Left untreated he could barely walk on that leg. His hip has been repaired and he is ready to go to his forever home. The doctors and staff who performed the surgery and took care of him afterwards were amazed at how even tempered and pleasant he was throughout the entire process. Junior lives with 6 other dogs and 2 cats in a very active household and he is fine with it all. He enjoys going for car rides, walks, and hikes as well as just playing in the back yard. He is also very happy curled up on a warm lap. Junior is about one year old and weighs in at 15 pounds. He has a very short coat but probably does shed.

is a 1-2 year old and 65 lb. Golden/Lab mix. What a perfect combination! Loves to play, good with other dogs, outgoing & friendly.
