is very laid back and friendly. About 2 years old and around 15 lbs. Sweet and loving with all. His fur was matted when he came to us and he had to be shaved down. His fur will grow in beautifully, like his face in this picture. He is a lap dog. Loves attention, but is not pushy. Has a great personality. Gets along great with other dogs. He is house broken, but does not like to go out into the rain.

is a young adult spayed female chihuahua. She is approximately 4 years old and 8lbs. She was left behind with CheyChey, another chihuahua, after their owner died. A kind neighbor contacted us and we took them to live in a foster home. They share that home with other dogs, including chihuahuas, and cats. They would not do well with children. Gia pays special attention to CheyChey making sure that he is ok. She is loveable. She enjoys sitting on her foster mom's lap and being petted. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom and other dogs. She is trained to go on the wee wee pads.

is 2 1/2 year old spayed female chow/retriever mix and the perfect size. She is housebroken and extremely smart. She has had formal training and knows simple commands such as sit, stay, heel and down. She is also a good watchdog and will protect her home. She would be happier in a home without other dogs and young children (under age of 10) since she likes her peace. She really is a loving girl and very smart. She also likes to swim. In these photos she is sporting her summer cut. Her hair will grow in lush and thick again.

is a fabulous almost 3 year old, 20 pound dachshund. She was given up by a family that just didn't want her any longer and even when they had her they kept her tied up outdoors. Now in her foster home for only one day she has proven herself to be housebroken, well mannered, gentle and extremely loving. She gets along with the other dogs as well as cats and rabbits in the house. Gidget has been spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccinations. She is a wonderful family dog and will complete any family. She enjoys car rides, curling up on the couch with her new foster humans and wound up in snuggling in bed her first night in her new and very different surroundings.

is a purebred Chinese Crested Hairless, approximately 7 months old and around 15 lbs. She is almost housebroken with minimal crate training. We have no background information on her, since she was abandoned by her previous owner. She is a very loving dog who needs full time attention. She is great with children and other dogs, although she does display some alpha characteristics. She should not go to a home with cats. She is also hearing impaired. This not an easy breed, please only inquire if you have had experience with this breed or are knowledgeable about the breed. She is in a loving foster home and will be very well taken care of until she has a forever home.

Gilbert is an adorable Beagle/Pug mix, about 14 months old and 18 lbs. His foster mon says that he is a real sweetie and a love to have around. He climbs right into your lap without jumping. He is a gentle guy and takes his time eating. He is No problem what so ever with cats, children and loves to romp with other dogs if they want. He also knows to leave the older dog in is his foster home alone, who doesn’t want to play. He has minimal shedding and is house trained/crate trained. Gizmo

Gizmo is about 4 months old and around 15-lbs. He looks like a cross between a Leonberger/Belgian Shepherd mix. If one word can describe this dog - beautiful! Brown with black shading and a black muzzle, he is big and healthy. He was living in a drain pipe and brought to the pound, where Pet Rescue found him. He is gentle and gets along well with other dogs. He is a little shy around people but once he gets to know you he loves to cuddle. His new family will need a little patience but will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion! He "goes" only on paper inside and "goes" outside too.

Gizmo is a very gentle laid back boy. He is 16 lbs and around 1 year old. He's a sweetheart, gives kisses and loves napping on his pillow at your feet or lying on your lap. He walks well on a leash and rides well in the car by curling up in a ball on the back seat. Gizmo is housebroken and very calm submissive. Jasmine is his sibling and is also posted. Gizzy is an absolute charmer and the sweetest dog. He's 1-2 years old, about 15 pounds. He can go from being a low enegy lap dog that loves to give kisses to a high energy companion for my own dog very quickly. They love to play all day long, but as soon as I pick him up, he is ready to stop the rough housing and cuddle for as long as I want. He adjusted quickly to my walking schedule and seems to be completely house trained. He loves to play with toys, but he has not been destructive or chewed on anything else. He likes to share his toys and food without growling or aggression. He knows basic commands, and he minds me when I tell him to come, stay, sit, and down. He is crate trained and doesn't bark or whine when I put him in it. He is great walking on the leash, and does not pull at all. He seems to love riding in the car; when you open the car door, he jumps right in and gets comfy in the passenger seat. He loves to be brushed.

Godiva is a gorgeous Chocolate Lab, about 2 years old and around 80 lbs. She has tested positive for a low count of heartworm and will be treated shortly. These three girls are about 20-25 lbs now and around 4 months. They are sweet and gentle and very playful. They LOVE water and could stay in the kiddie pool all day if given a choice. They have very gentle mouths and have a lot of the Golden personality. They are almost housebroken and very intelligent. Friendly with other dogs and all people.

Golden Retriever mix puppies. 8 weeks old, 8 to 10 lbs. 2 male ( the dark one and one of the smallest ones), and 3 females. Each one is cuter than the next. Bear is the brown one, followed by Jack and Courtney ( the 2 smallest), Daisy ( the lightest one – very timid, but warms up fast), and Breezy ( the fluffiest one). They are all very docile, affectionate, and just love to be held and cuddled. Paper trained with a few misses here and there. These are beautiful pups with great temperaments. Great with kids! is a four year old female,Belgian Malinois Shepherd, aprox 45-50 lbs. She is affectionate and protective of her family members. Goldie knows her basic commands. She is living with children and another dog, her Lab Mix sister Zoe. She enjoys running in her fenced yard but also enjoys long walks on the leash. She likes to cuddle and have her belly rubbed. She can catch a ball and loves to be chased to get it back, very playful, energetic, and a pleasure to have around. She barks at cats but did live with a cat for a short time and seemed ok with it. She is up to date on her vet care and very healthy, but takes a dietary supplement with her food daily, to help in her digestion. She is completely house trained. If possible, she would love to find a home with her sister Zoe.

Goldie is a lovable 12 -14 month old dog who is 22 lbs and as sweet as can be. She is completely housebroken, very loveable and cuddly. She loves to play with toys and other dogs, especially dogs that are her size and not bigger. We recommend school age children or older for her since she is more more comfortable with them.. She is waiting for her forever home and will give you so much love in return.

Goldilocks is a 2 year old 60 lb sweet yellow lab mix, who is always happy, friendly and wagging her tail. Goliath

is an adorable terrier, about 2 years old and 20 lbs. We rescued him from a city shelter and he is very scared & standoffish at this point. He wants to be happy and loving, but then pulls away. He has probably come from a neglectful home and needs someone that will love him and restore his trust in people, preferably a home with an experienced dog owner and no kids. Gopher is a sweet and happy little 10 week old pup. He is a busy puppy patrolling the yard to check for any new smells or sticks that may have appeared since his last time out. He get along well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to snuggle up and give kisses to whoever will receive them. She travels nicely in the car, sleeps through the night, good in the bath, not a barker or a whiner. She gets along well with the other dogs and cats in her foster home and is enjoying romping around in the snow. She is very smart and is already learning to come when you call her. She has not had any accidents in the house.

Bella Greta (her foster dad's name for this little girl) is a 3-4 year old, 6 pound chihuahua found wandering around the streets of Yonkers. A vet tech took her in and made sure she was healthy and up to date on all of her shots. PetRescue arranged to have her spayed. Bella is housebroken and is small enough to use a litterbox with pads. She is very energetic and playful; she enjoys the company of other little dogs but is afraid of big ones. She is more comfortable with women but adjusts to men. Bella is being fostered by a young man who takes her with him where ever he goes. She loves the car rides and the attention she gets. She will need time to adjust to a new home with new people and does not like being left alone. Bella would love to find a home where she can be the princess.

is a fabulous dog with a wonderful personality. He is about 2-3 years old and around 60 lbs. He is very sweet, affectionate & cuddly.. and loves a good belly rub. He is playful and made friends with all the other dogs from the transport, big and small. He is happy to share food and toys with the foster home's other dog, there is no competition or possessiveness at all. He is very smart and is a quick learner. Housebroken too. Guinevere

This pretty girl has other things in mind then posing for the camera. She is a happy and outgoing girl. She is used to cats and large dogs. Because of her energy, she can be a little overwhelming for young children and small dogs and would do better in a home with larger dogs and older children. She loves to give kisses. She is about 11 mo. old and around 28 lbs. We are not sure if she is house broken.

Guinness

Guinness is an adorable Shepherd/Lab mix, about 6 months old and around 40 lbs. He is a very sweet, loving boy who just wants to be with you. He is very much like a Shepherd and is very smart and loyal... and still very much a puppy. He is quite goofy and his favorite past time is hanging out in bushes. He is always looking to see if you want him to do something and would excel in training if taken to classes. He also loves to play with other dogs and is great with all people. is a sweet and gentle boy. He is about 1-2 years old and around 50 lbs. He is in a foster home with 2 other dogs and loves them. But he loves people most of all.

Gunther

Gunther is a handsome Wirehaired Terrier mix (he does shed), about a year old and 20 lbs. He is a very sweet, gentle boy. An easy dog with the most adorable cowlick. He follows his foster mom around all day, loves to sit next to her and sleeps in her bed. He loves to romp and play with other dogs. He is working on his house breaking, travels well in a car and is getting used to walking on leash. He will be a wonderful and loyal companion.

Gus

This little guy was very shy at first. He has made a lot of progress and has become much more trusting. His butt is constantly wagging and he would love to be in a home with another dog; preferably another young one to play with. He is such a playful little fellow. He also loves cats. Gus should go to a home with older children who can give him the space to come to them. He will reward them immensely. He loves children and will give them tons of kisses. He is about 5 1/2 months old and around 22 lbs and sweet as sugar.

We call Gus the wonderboy who survived not eating for 2 weeks because the shelter he was in did not have food to feed him. Now he is gorgeous, gained some weight, and his coat is nice and shiny, thanks to the good diet he is on. Looks forward to going to the dog park to play with the other dogs. He loves to chase the frisbee and catch balls. Jumps very high to catch them. He loves to be in the car for rides to the park. A very intelligent boy who follows commands, and is completely housebroken. Anyone who adopts him is getting a very special dog.

Gus

Gus is an adorable 10 week old hound/lab mix puppy. He is a typical puppy who is playful and will follow and play with his brothers Gizmo and Gandolf. He likes the outdoors and romp. He is paper trained and does go potty outside.

Gypsie is an adorable Spaniel/Border Collie mix and about 25 lbs. She has been groomed since these photos of when she first arrived, she is now just stunning. She is very cute, sweet and playful, which also describes her personality. She likes to be right by her foster mom’s side and loves to get her head rubbed. She likes to look outside the window, possibly dreaming about the car rides she loves so much. Gypsy enjoys the dog park, is very gentle around children and will make a wonderful pet to who ever will give her a forever home. Gypsy is spayed, housebroken, and UTD on shots.

is attentive and seems very obedient. She is from a hoarder who kept around 100 dogs on her property and was not able to take care of them all. She was starved when she was picked up and is very food motivated. She is a sweet pup getting used to her foster home. She gets along with the other dogs and cats in her new home and loves to snuggle with her new foster parents. She does gobble her food but doesn't beg or counter surf. She appears housebroken and is getting used to walking on a leash. She is small enough to easily train. Although she doesn't know her name yet she comes in from the yard when called. Gypsy will make some lucky adopter very happy! She is about 2-3 years old and around 33 lbs.

Gypsy

Gypsy is about 1 year old and 10 lbs. She is very playful. Despite her short legs she can keep up with anybody. At home she is calm and loves to snuggle. She loves all people and will go right up to them to be petted and is great with dogs and cats. This is a good dog for a first time dog owner since she is so easy to love. One of her most endearing qualities is the tongue that always sticks out just a little on the side of her mouth.

Gyselle

Gyselle is a wonderful, gentle, sweet, playful and calm girl. She loves playing in the back yard, riding in the car and hanging out in the house. She is about 3-4 months old and 10 pounds of love. She is great with other dogs of all sizes; she shares her food and toys ;and snuggles up when she is ready to go to sleep. She is probably part Australian Shepard and maybe dachsund- her mother Sara, 20 pounds, is also up for adoption and pictured on the site. Gyselle is totally papertrained and ready to use the great outdoors. Gyselle reminds the foster family of the Pokey Little Puppy children's book series- plump, soft, curious and full of kisses. Gyselle is up to date on her vaccinations and ready to go to her forever home.
